The Georgetown Reads! selection this year is Marley and Me, by John Grogan. It’s the true story of a young couple’s experiences with a golden labrador retriever–the subtitle of the book is “Life and Love With the World’s Worst Dog.” While the bestseller is an adult book, it also has been rewritten for younger readers and the library has all versions, including the audio book.
Activities related to the community read begin on Saturday, April 4 with pet adoption opportunities from the Georgetown Animal Shelter from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. a demonstration by the Texas Service Dogs organization. Come to see dogs at work!
